The Software

How it works

Using the only FDA-approved software on the market, NeurOptimal®, getting better performance out of your brain is a breeze. Five sensors pick up your brainwave activity. The software then uses that EEG to give feedback to your brain through music. It’s a complicated process packaged in a stream-lined approach. See explainer video below.

· No side effects

· No clinical assessment required

· No brain mapping/QEEG needed

· No talk therapy

· No maintenance sessions

Dramatically different from the older neurofeedback systems still in use today, BrainSpa’s NeurOptimal® software is more effective because it is based on a very different theory about how the brain is best optimized. No longer are you reliant on the clinician to be a brain expert. This software is smarter, faster, and removes human error.

NeurOptimal® works with brain instabilities, not amplitudes or any other traditional linear measures. As your brain starts to move into an instability/unbalanced state, it is notified. Your brain naturally strives for balance and will use this information to regulate it’s activity. It will learn the new skill of balancing itself and central nervous system functioning. With repetition, the new skill becomes permanent, just like learning a new dance.

The result is a relaxed, yet focused and alert state of being that athletes call being ‘in the zone.’ Psychologists call this state ‘being present.’ NeurOptimal’s approach of training the whole brain, in real time, makes it the most effective brain training on the market.

Insurance reimbursement

These questions serve as a guide for what to ask your insurance carrier about possible reimbursement based on your individual policy. BrainSpa is happy to provide a superbill.

  • Does my policy cover CPT code 90901 (biofeedback by any modality)?
  • If so, what is my financial responsibility?
  • Do I need a letter of medical necessity for preauthorization? To whom and where do I send it?
  • What are the limits of my coverage and what forms and/or codes do I need to submit to you for reimbursement?
